Gastri-Soothe supports the structure and function of the unique equine digestive system. Reduces the risk of stomach irritation and ulcers in young/adult horses, performance and athletic horses, and those horses that may be trailered and travel frequently. Reduces the risk of scours and sour stomach in young foals.

Gastri-Soothe is indicated for adult horses, young and newborn foals for symptoms such as:

• Gastri-Soothe supports optimal gastric health without suppressing stomach acid or impairing the natural digestive process.
• Safe and complementary when used with buffers and temporary acid suppressants.
• Zinc-Carnosine adheres to the gastric mucosa, providing an additional barrier of protection against damage.
• L-Carnosine provides antioxidant activity to protect gastric epithelial cells from free radical damage.
• Gastri-Soothe is structurally stable for prolonged gastric activity.
• Reduces the risk of stomach irritation due to stress of travel or trailering.
• Support normal digestive health for horses not on pasture (daily).

Directions for use:

For routine use in newborn/young foals:
Administer 5 mL once daily from dial-a-dose syringe.

Adult horses:
Administer 10 mL, once daily for maintenance and twice daily for therapy with or without feed.

Horses in training:
Administer 10 mL once or twice daily with or without feed.

Horses that are being trailered:
Administer 10 mL once daily for 3 days before and once daily for 3 days after travel. Give with or without feed.

For horses kept in box stalls:
Administer 10 mL once or twice daily with or without feed.

Consult with a veterinarian regarding use and dosing if unsure along with careful management of symptoms and conditions.

Ingredients: Apple Flavor, Corn Syrup, dl-Alpha Tocopheryl Acetate, Glycerin, Potassium Sorbate, USP Water, Sodium Benzoate, Sucrose (hydrolyzed) and Zinc-Carnosine.

Zinc-Carnosine:  A unique ingredient combining elemental zinc and the di-peptide L-carnosine, both know for their antioxidant and membrane stabilizing effects.  Research suggests it help support the normal function and structure of the gastrointestinal system and promotes healing in the stomach lining.

Zinc-Carnosine adheres to wound sites in the stomach and exerts a localized tissue-supportive effects, such as:

• Promoting tissue repair and protecting the stomach lining
• Inhibits the growth of possible harmful bacterial which may lead to scouring
• Protecting the integrity of stomach mucosa cells through antioxidant properties
• Attenuating stomach inflammation by inhibiting cytokine expiration

Unlike most conventional therapies, zinc-carnosine provides digestive relief without suppressing stomach acid or impairing digestive function.  This special zinc complex has also been shown to be three times more effective than plain zinc and is safe and complementary to buffers and acid-reducing products.

Zinc-carnosine does not have any adverse effects.  In limited testing, it has been shown to enhance the benefits of antibiotic therapy.
