For very young (less than 7 days old) or severely
malnourished kittens, mix 1 measure KMR with 2 measures of warm water. For older
kittens (7 to 10 days old with eyes open) mix 2 measures KMR with 3 measures
of warm water.
All kittens should receive the mother's milk for at least 2 days, if possible.
This colostrum milk gives extra nutrition and temporary immunity against some
Warm reconstituted KMR to room or body temperature. Feed kittens 2 tablespoons
per 4 ounces (115 g) of body weight daily. Small and/or weak kittens should
be fed every 3 to 4 hours. Larger and/or older kittens can do well being fed
every 8 hours. Divide the daily feeding amount into equal portions for each
feeding. The amount required should be increased or decreased to meet the individual
requirements for each kitten. Weigh the kitten daily to assure that they are
receiving adequate KMR.

The Pet-Ag 2 oz (60 mL) Esbilac Small Animal Nurser is suited for feeding most
kittens. When kittens are old enough to lap, begin offering reconstituted KMR
in a saucer. During the 3rd week, mix reconstituted KMR with Pet-Ag Kitten Weaning
Formula. Use of the KMR and Weaning Formula will allow the kitten to be gradually
switch to solid food.
Pregnant and lactating queens: Feed 2 teaspoons (4 g) KMR Powder per 5 lbs (2.2
kg) body weight daily until 2 weeks after queening.
Growing kittens, show cats, and/or convalescing cats: Feed 1 teaspoon (2 g)
KMR Powder per 5 lbs (2.2 kg) body weight daily.
Reconstituted KMR Powder may be
refrigerated up to 24 hours. Opened powder may be refrigerated 3 months.
